Sentry droids were droids that acted as sentries in various locations. Small, wheeled sentry droids patrolled the corridors of the first Death Star. Other versions patrolled bases like the one on Gall.
Behind the scenes
Imperial sentry droids were added in the 1997 Special Edition version of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
