A security kit or security bypass kit^[1] was a collection of tools and electronic components designed specifically for bypassing electronic and mechanical locks.

Sensor devices were often included as part of the kit to aid in their use. These items were highly restricted on most worlds and possession was only permitted by those with proper permits, like members of law enforcement or professional security experts. Exceptional models contained a dedicated comlink to monitor frequencies typically used by silent alarms to warn the user of detection. Designed with portability and concealment in mind, most security kits weighed 1 kilogram. From 32 BBY to 8 ABY, the market value was 750 credits.
