Safe Home was the name given to an uncharted planet by a group of independent scouts who discovered it during the Galactic Civil War. The scouts, members of the old Scout Service, kept the existence of the planet secret and retired on this world to escape the horrors of war. They were supplied by a group of pirates who had managed to convince them that the Rebel Alliance had been defeated by the Galactic Empire.

Behind the scenes

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, indicated during discussions that Safe Home was excluded from The Essential Atlas Online Companion because it is not the effective name of a planet but a military code used for its designation.[1]
