A rigora was a type of duel practiced by the Phosphura Belt Pirates as a means of solving internal disputes. As dictated by the Rules of the Blade, rigoras could be declared if a pirate felt his or her name, ship, or crew had been dishonored. Some rigoras were fought till one fell unconscious to the ground while others were fought to the death depending on the nature of the grievance. Energy weapons were allowed, but explosives were considered poor conduct.
There were several types of rigora such as the just rigora, the honor rigora, and the oath rigora.
