"Here's your chance to beat up some helpless opponents. It's not that much of a contest."

The raid in the Senex system occurred early in the Galactic Civil War. During a training mission, Rebel pilot Dev accidentally entered in an Imperial training ground in the Senex system. Mistaking Imperial starship for exercise targets, he wiped them out before he understood he was in Imperial space.[2]

Behind the scenes

The battle first appeared in the 1993 video game Star Wars: X-Wing as the first X-wing historical mission: "Dev's Sidestep".

  3. According to X-Wing: The Official Strategy Guide, this engagement follows the adoption of the T-65 X-wing starfighter by the Rebel Alliance, which The Essential Guide to Warfare dates to 1 BBY, and precedes the capture of Leia Organa. The Essential Atlas establishes that Organa's capture takes place on 35:3:3 under the Great ReSynchronization dating system, placing it at the beginning of 0 BBY according to the following explanation. Therefore, events occurring between the X-wing's adoption and Organa's capture must take place in 1 BBY.
