The Quartermaster Corps was a division of the Republic Military that was responsible for issuing supplies and rations to the personnel of the military. The Quartermaster Corps posted high-ranking supply officers to field and front-line positions to better interact with their direct subordinates. During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Ordnance and Supply command took inspiration from the program for its own drop point system of forward supply caches.
