Poundies

"Poundies" was the term given to the crews of the smelting ships operated by the Minos-Mestra Corporation in the Mestra system. The poundies were a unique subculture within the system; they were hated by the miners as poundies were known to claim jump by using their ships to crush asteroids claimed by miners with only the barest warning.
