A male individual was the master of the pilot droid PD-28, whom he taught to help others as they would someday return the favor. At some point[1] by 3 ABY,[2] the Galactic Empire stole PD from his master. Once the droid had escaped Imperial servitude, he decided that his place was with his master and went looking for him.[1]

PD-28's master was mentioned in "Battle for the Sunstar,"[1] the twentieth episode of the second season of the animated series Ewoks, which first aired on December 6, 1986.[3]
