The Obsidian was an Imperial XQ1 Platform where Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin developed a series of prototype TIE Fighters as part of the TIE Experimental Project. The facility was defended by several TIE Fighter squadrons and the science research ship Sardis.

History

The station, along with the Sardis, was destroyed in a Rebel attack shortly following the Battle of Hoth. Zaarin was able to salvage remnants of the Obsidian's computer from its debris.

Behind the scenes

In the final cutscene of the second tour of duty in Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, Zaarin orders his crew to return to the Obsidian station, though it had been destroyed in the previous battle.
