The Nintendo System

The Nintendo Entertainment System, informally abbreviated as the NES, is a video game console released by Nintendo in 1983. It originally came out in Japan as the Family Computer, commonly known by the portmanteau abbreviation Famicom. It later came out in the United States in 1985. It was preceded by the Color TV-Game and was succeeded by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990.
