Negate

A negate was a type of duel practiced by the Phosphura Belt Pirates to settle internal disputes. The negate was a duel to the death. A pirate wanting to take the chair of the Pirate King or Queen could make a negate challenge, or a negate could be used to settle open hostilities between two pirate groups. It was by custom the subject of game wagers.

To add a bit of excitement, negates could be fought in a "Fire Ring of Fornax".
