The Mycosia flower was a species of flower that was characterized by its pink petals and white beaded pistils. Evir Derricote grew them.

Mycosia flowers are a homage by author Michael A. Stackpole to his Battletech novels. In the BattleTech universe, the mycosia flower was the preferred flower of Archon-Princess Melissa Steiner-Davion and flower pots of mycosia pseudoflora were used in the bombing that killed her in Stackpole's BattleTech novel "Natural Selection". Her assassination was a groundbreaking event within the universe.[source?]
