Morts Werl
Morts Werl was a Human male who lived during the Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. Fair-skinned with gray hair and a mustache, Werl joined the Alliance[1] by 0 BBY. In that same year,[2] Werl was present in the Great Temple, the Alliance's main headquarters on the moon Yavin 4, where he attended a briefing held by Alliance General Jan Dodonna, who discussed the Alliance's plans to attack the Imperial DS-1 Orbital Battle Station superweapon.[1]
The Alliance's starfighters destroyed the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station in the subsequent Battle of Yavin. After the battle, a ceremony was held in the Great Temple's Grand Audience Chamber.[1] Werl, who attained the rank of captain by then,[3] was present at the ceremony, during which the Medal of Bravery was awarded to two of the victorious Rebel fighters: Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Werl wore a dark green uniform with a lighter green cap.[1]
