Morodin homeworld
The homeworld of the Morodins was home to the sentient herbivorous lizard-slug species' civilization, more than a thousand years before the formation of the Galactic Republic. Eventually, the Morodin colonized the planet Varonat, transforming the world's plains into dense and large jungles to supply the Morodins with food stores, which in turn, they would send back to their homeworld on organic space vessels, in hopes of feeding their ever growing population.[1]
At some point, an ecological disaster destroyed the Morodins' ability to grow their organic vessels, severing contact with the agricultural colony they had established on Varonat.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Morodin homeworld was first mentioned in the 1994 short story First Contact, written by Timothy Zahn, later published within the Star Wars Adventure Journal 1. Ten years later, the world was mentioned in Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin, a Galactic Gazetteer web supplement from the Wizards of the Coast's website. It was again mentioned in 2008 within The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia's entry for the Morodin.
