Medal of Futility
The Medal of Futility was an Imperial starfighter pilot medal awarded for successfully completing eight tours of duty. Its curious name may have to do with the futility of Admiral Demetrius Zaarin's insurrection and his failure to secure the TIE Defender technology for himself. It reflects the futility of the numerous attacks against the convoy carrying the TIE Defender prototypes, which passed through a very risky journey before being delivered to Admiral Thrawn.
It also may be an allusion to the futility of the Rebels' cause.
Design
The ribbon was colored red and had three white stripes on each side. The medal itself had three prong shapes at the bottom and was primarily gold, with a hollow opening possessing a white surface that was adorned with the Imperial Crest, colored blue.
