The Twi'lek Rebel Alliance starfighter pilot Mazer Rackus originally joined the Rebellion at age sixteen after stealing his first starship from his father and crashing it on a Rebel-controlled planet. Rackus served the Alliance for many years, all the while harboring a negative remembrance of his father.
