Maneuvering thrusters on an X-Wing

Maneuvering jets, also maneuverability jets or maneuvering thrusters, were small ion engines that increased a starship's ability to jink, roll and pitch during extreme maneuvers. They would fire automatically, and while most starships had a basic set of these, special versions of these jets could be installed to dramatically improve a starship's capability. They were installed on the pirate ship Marauder Starjacker.

The escape pods on the Millennium Falcon had maneuvering jets.
