Kharzet III was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories' Mortex sector[1] that was uncharted as of 3 ABY.[2] The planet's lush forests were home a wide variety of plant life, and also to a unique species of gundark known as the long-necked gundark.[3] Princess Leia Organa and C-3PO scouted the planet for possible new location for the Rebel base after the Battle of Hoth, but they they quickly fled after coming under attacked by long-necked gundarks.[2]
Behind the scenes
Kharzet III first appeared in Star Wars 51: Resurrection of Evil, written by Archie Goodwin and released in 1981. Although the planet went unidentified in its initial appearance,[2] it later received a name in The Essential Guide to Alien Species, which mentioned the unique gundark species shown in the comic.[3]
