Keen's Grotto was the location of a notorious catacomb complex on Corellia. A team of four spelunkers became trapped there, necessitating rescue by a Corellian search and rescue squad, who deployed a GV/3-series guardian droid to save them. This incident became widely publicized, leading Cybot Galactica to produce a modified version of the guardian droid with enhanced detection sensors, emergency transponder, spotlight, and a packet of weather-proof survival gear.[1]

Behind the scenes

" In order to get through Keen's grotto, we had to lay on our stomachs and worm-crawl for what seemed like a football field... eventually the ceiling got so close to the floor that we had to take our helmets off and push them in front with our noses... eventually the ceiling got so close that we couldn't move forward unless we turned our heads sideways."
Daniel Wallace[src]

Keen's Grotto is a real location in Indiana, where The Essential Guide to Droids ("Guardian Droid") author Daniel Wallace once went spelunking with several college roommates, an experience he would later recall as being "unrelentingly miserable."[2][3]
