Kassler was a grizzled old spacer, and the captain of the tramp freighter, the Ravelev. His ship plied the Anarid Cluster. He employed Platt Okeefe for two years before she left to work for the Klatooinian Trade Guild, against his advice. Among the many lessons Kassler taught Okeefe, was the value of using false names.
