Ilon Drez was a senior admiral in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, Drez led a group of vocal admirals who stressed the need for an anti-starfighter ship, believing that the lack of adequate screening vessels contributed to the destruction of the first Death Star. Naval Command responded by creating the Lancer-class frigate.
