Hydrocarbons were organic compounds that were composed of a combination of the following elements: carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen.

The planet Shaymore contained hydrocarbon-bearing fossil fuels that were mined by the Galactic Empire. The planet Kheedar processed hydrocarbons.
