Hieroglyphics was an archaeological term describing alien, primitive, ancient, and obscure forms of writing system, usually carved on hard surfaces. Their usage seem to have been in ritualistic, monumental, pictographic and decorative context. These uses and traits distinguished them from the more modern alphabetic systems.
Spires covered with alien hieroglyphics were seen among the monuments in the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan.[1]
Sanyassans used hieroglyphs, considered crude and uninterpretable by Pfilbee Jhorn.[2] The Dressellians also used primitive hieroglyphs, until they adopted the Botha alphabet.[3]
