Goo was a colloquial term used by the Corporate Sector Authority's IRD starfighter pilots. It was a reference to a planet's atmosphere, in which they preferred not to engage the enemy. The high-speed IRD starfighter was not very aerodynamic and lost considerable maneuverability in the atmosphere.
