Gnooroop
The gnooroop was a fish that lived within the seas of Aquaris, a completely ocean-covered world[2] in the Expansion Region.[3] Gnooroop traveled together in extremely dense schools that could reach up to 10 kilometers long,[1] and were often hunted by Aquaris' menacing demonsquid.[4] Gnooroop eggs were noted for being especially slippery.[5]
Behind the scenes
Gnooroop first appeared in Traitor's Gambit, a comic strip story arc written by Archie Goodwin, illustrated by Al Williamson and released in 1982.[2] Although they went unidentified in Traitor's Gambit, they were finally named in the 1998 The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons.[1] Gnooroop were also mentioned in the 2003 novel The New Jedi Order: Force Heretic II: Refugee, where their name was misspelled "nooroop."[5]
