Gibbit birds were avian creatures native to Dathomir. Gibbit birds where symbiotic to the rancor. The rancor allowed the gibbit bird to roam freely in its mouth, where the bird cleaned its teeth by picking out stuck pieces of bones and flesh. This helped the rancor's teeth remain sharp and healthy, and allowed the gibbit bird to obtain food of its own.
