Garouf Lafoe/Legends
Garouf Lafoe was a male Human from Tatooine. He was an ice trader, fetching ice from the rings of Ohann and Adriana, and bringing it back to Tatooine.[2] Lafoe was a patron in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina when Obi-Wan Kenobi took Luke Skywalker there. After witnessing Obi-Wan swing a lightsaber at both Ponda Baba and Cornelius Evazan, he went outside and informed sandtrooper Davin Felth of the incident.[1]
Behind the scenes
Garouf Lafoe was played by stuntman Peter Diamond in A New Hope.[3] The original film cuts directly from Lafoe standing at the bar to him speaking to stormtroopers outside, but a rough-cut of the cantina scene released in various places includes extra footage of him actually waking away from the bar and exiting the cantina to find the troopers.[4]
In the Marvel Star Wars adaptation of A New Hope, this character was portrayed as a Saurin.[5].
