A fusion disk was a small device which had a small charge attached to it. When the disk made contact with another surface, the charge ignited, causing the disk to fuse itself to the other surface. The tow cables designed by Commander Beryl Chiffonage and used by the Rebel Alliance to trip the AT-ATs deployed during the Battle of Hoth employed fusion disks.
