Full-spectrum transceiver/Legends

A full-spectrum transceiver (FST) was a type of sensor. They were commonly referred to as a "universal sensor" because they employed an array of sensors to detect a diverse array of phenomena. However, its versatility was limited by its low sensitivity and the fact that the effectiveness of the full-spectrum transceiver was directly proportional to its size. The larger the receptor, the more useful the sensor was. Larger receptor dishes were required to detect with accuracy or at long range. Most non-combat vessels were equipped only with full-spectrum transceivers.[1]
Industrial Automaton's R2-series astromech droids were fitted with full-spectrum transceivers.[2]
