Forvish ale was a kind of alcoholic ale that carried a distinct odor.[5] It originated in the Forvand system[1][2] and was enjoyed by several members of the mercenary organization Churhee's Riflemen.[3] In 9 ABY,[6] Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn drank a strong Forvish ale after a battle against a New Republic task force.[4]

Behind the scenes

Forvish ale first appeared in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire, the 1991 first novel of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy.[4]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Forvish ale in relation to the Forvand system.
