A flight suit was a one-piece coverall that provided life support, protected against hostile environments, and prevented the wearer from being adversely affected from the g-force effects commonly associated with high-velocity flying. They typically came with a helmet to provide maximum benefits. Jointly, the two items weighed roughly 3 kilograms, and could provide life support in outer space for up to three hours.
