FX9 was a medical droid in service to the Galactic Empire and the Sith Lord Darth Vader shortly following the Battle of Hoth. FX9 was installed on the Executor, Vader's flagship, and was placed in charge of the recuperation of Imperial spy Shira Brie as she recovered in a bacta tank after severe wounds suffered while posing as a Rebel pilot during Operation Earplug.[1]

Farlie appeared in Star Wars (1977) 63, written by David Michelinie and Walter Simonson, illustrated by Tom Palmer and released in 1982.[1]
