Excalibur
The Excalibur was Emperor Palpatine's personal C-3 passenger liner, which he used during the Galactic Civil War.
History
The ship was used to transport the Emperor and his dignitaries to Endor, but traitor forces led by Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin attacked the ship via the Assassin-class corvette Ram, the Nebulon-B2 frigate Kimik, and a pair of Assault Gunboats. However, Grand Admiral Thrawn arrived and deployed starfighters led by Maarek Stele, who drove off Zaarin's forces.
Afterwards, Imperial Intelligence looked into the attack, and identified the Assault Gunboats as having belonged to Emperor Palpatine's own special reserve guard. One of Stele's commanders, a lesser prophet in the Secret Order of the Emperor, had learned of this and likewise notified Stele of this development in the aftermath.
Behind the scenes
The Excalibur will be attacked by two Assault Gunboats and the Assassin-class corvette Ram and then the next attack will vary depending on what happens to the two Assault Gunboats.
- If Z-Mu 1 is destroyed first then the attack consists of Assault Gunboats, which will attack the Liner, while TIE Avengers will attempt to divert the escorts away.
- If Z-Mu 2 is destroyed first then the attack consists of at least 9 additional Assassin-class corvettes as well as Assault Gunboats.
- If both were destroyed simultaneously then the Frigate Kimik will stay put and launch TIE/sa bombers, to attack the Liner and TIE Avengers to attack the escorts.
In medieval legend and later literature, Excalibur is the sword of the legendary King Arthur.
