An electro-grapple was a device used to link a pirate starship to a target vessel by force. The Riders of the Maelstrom used electro-grapples to tether their ships to the luxury liner Kuari Princess.
Behind the scenes
In the version of Riders of the Maelstrom reprinted in Classic Adventures: Volume Three, the reference to "electro-grapple" was replaced by the generic "grapple."
