Ecliptic Evaders
The Ecliptic Evaders was a mock starfighter squadron, invented by Derek "Hobbie" Klivian. The unit was composed of Klivian and Biggs Darklighter, who had both mutinied from the Rand Ecliptic to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
History
After conducting a mutiny aboard the Imperial vessel Rand Ecliptic, Biggs Darklighter and Derek "Hobbie" Klivian made their way to the Alliance to Restore the Republic base on Yavin 4. After arriving, Klivian invented a mock unit for the pair, named the Ecliptic Evaders.[2]
The Ecliptic Evaders were based in the Sullust system for a time. However, eventually the unit was split up as Darklighter and Klivian's skills were needed elsewhere and General Jan Dodonna was forced to reassign them to outposts where they could serve more effectively.[3]
Organization
As a mock unit, the Ecliptic Evaders comprised two pilots, both of whom had previously served on the Imperial ship Rand Ecliptic.[2] Biggs Darklighter, who wore emblem of the Ecliptic Evaders on his flight helmet,[4] fought as Red Three during the Battle of Yavin and was killed during the engagement. Hobbie Klivian served as Rogue Four during the Battle of Hoth, surviving the conflict and becoming a core member of Rogue Squadron.[2]
