Dorovio Bold/Legends
Dorovio Bold was a light-skinned Human female[1] with black hair and brown eyes.[2] She joined an Imperial Academy and was a top cadet.[1] In 0 BBY, the Galactic Empire used their DS-1 Orbital Battle Station superweapon to destroy the planet Alderaan.[4] Bold joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic after learning about that action, becoming a Rebel pilot[1] and joining the Alliance's Red Squadron.[3]
In 4 ABY, during the Battle of Endor, Alliance starfighters attacked the Imperial Death Star II battlestation.[4] Bold flew a T-65 X-wing starfighter in the battle, where she fought Imperial starfighters.[2] The battle ended in an Alliance victory and the Death Star's destruction.[4] Bold wore an orange Rebel flight suit and a flight helmet, and was armed with a blaster pistol.[2]
Behind the scenes

Dorovio Bold was set to appear in 1983's original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, portrayed by actress Vivienne Chandler, but her scene was deleted.[5] The pilot was filmed at Elstree Studios between March and April of 1982.[6] In 2006, she was first mentioned outside of the deleted scene in Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by David West Reynolds, James Luceno, and Ryder Windham.[1]
In 2013, the digital edition of The Making of Return of the Jedi released footage of Bold's scene, where the Rebel pilot suffered critical damage to her T-65 X-wing starfighter's stabilizers during the Battle of Endor.[5] The design of Bold's helmet was first used as Tatooine native Luke Skywalker's blast shield helmet in 1977's original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[7] 1995's LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire used film props in the game's filming,[8] with Rebel pilot Darnell Reggs being depicted with a helmet of the same design.[9] The helmet prop went on to be stored at Star Wars Identities: The Exhibition.[10]
