Detta Rotan was a Rebel Alliance cell leader, based in Jalor City on the planet Gotida.
In 2 ABY, Rotan's cell was discovered and attacked by the Galactic Empire. During the crossfire, Riic Mardec's wife and two daughters were killed. Mardec, an innocent cab driver, was devastated by the happening, and blamed the Rebel Alliance for it. Rotan wrote a report about this for the Task Force on Alliance Security. Although the deaths could have been due to Rebel or Imperial fire, Rotan nevertheless suggested a formal apology to Mardec in the name of the Alliance, and even helping him as much as possible.
