The Detached Duty Office was a division of the Corporate Sector Authority's Office of the Auditor-General. It was established for two reasons; firstly, as a public relations exercise to give the impression that the Corporate Sector Authority valued civic-mindedness. Secondly, as an internal affairs department to counter corruption in the Corporate Sector. The Office answered to the Prex and the Executive Directorship Board, but had full authority to investigate the Prex, the ExO, and the Direx Board.[1]
