"I'll stay awake all night and escape as soon as I hear the first dawndaddy."
―Teebo[1]

The dawndaddy was a species that lived on the Forest Moon of Endor and made a noise at the rise of the moon's sun, Ibleam,[1] signaling dawn.[2] At one point, when the Ewok Teebo was held prisoner by an individual known as the Grudakk, he decided to stay awake for the whole night and escape once he heard the first dawndaddy. However, Teebo's plan was unable to come to fruition, as the exhausted Ewok fell asleep quickly.[1]

Behind the scenes

The dawndaddy was first mentioned in the 1984 young-readers book The Adventures of Teebo: A Tale of Magic and Suspense, written by Joe Johnston.[1]
