D'al was a commentator on Gundark's Gear Datalog during the early years of the New Republic. Commenting on the Datalog's entry for the kloo horn, D'al mentioned that the kloo horn was perfect for musicians playing rowdy venues, because it could be used as an effective truncheon in an emergency.
