Cybernetic chamber

The cybernetic chamber was a device developed by Imperial scientists during the Galactic Civil War. A large chamber about the size of a starfighter cockpit, it had a single seat within it and used a laserwave link to transmit Force energies long distances, creating a cybernetic link. Wired into a probe droid, Darth Vader could tap into the minds of people within range of the droid, even if it were light-years away.

Darth Vader used this chamber in a plan to uncover a hidden Rebel Alliance base after the Battle of Yavin. Luring Luke Skywalker to Verdanth, Vader hoped to use the chamber's Force energy to pry the location from his mind. However, Skywalker resisted the probe.
