The Coruscant Standard Carat, or CSC, was a standard unit of measurement for gemstones.[1]
While gemstones across the galaxy varied fantastically in price depending on quality and local demand - with quality gems potentially worth entire fortunes, and low-quality gems barely worth a meal - most gems were nevertheless held to the Coruscant Standard Carat (CSC).[1] One CSC was roughly equal to one fifth of a gram, with typical gemstones ranging in size from one-half to three CSCs.[1] A particularly large stone could be as large as five CSCs.[1]
