"The smaller craft are the combat vehicles. Stick with the five transports."
―General Carlist Rieekan during the Rendezvous on Barkhesh[1]

Combat vehicles were small repulsorcraft tanks. They were armed with one turret in the front and a double-barrel turret in the back, which could shoot over the front turret.

The Barkhesh Resistance employed three of these vehicles to escort five armed transports being used to transport supplies to the Rebel Alliance around 6 months after the Battle of Yavin. The combat vehicles were assisted by the T-65 X-wing starfighters of Rogue Squadron.

Several of these tanks were used again by the Alliance during the assault on an Imperial facility on the Jade Moon. One of them was under the direct control of General Carlist Rieekan during the strike.

Behind the scenes

The combat vehicles appear in the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Their in-game stats differ considerably between the two levels they appear in. On "Rendezvous on Barkhesh", the combat vehicles are extremely durable and can shrug off several proton torpedo hits, whereas on "the Jade Moon" they are much more fragile.
