Class VI automated laser projector

The BlasTech Class VI automated laser projector was an automated laser trap used by the Empire in the detention blocks of the first Death Star.

Description

The laser trap had an optimum range of ten meters, and a maximum range of twenty-five meters. The bolts produced had the stopping power of a blaster rifle. Internal power cells supplied enough energy for fifty shots, though it could be linked to a generator for unlimited firepower. They also tended to be linked to the security cameras.

Behind the scenes

This weapon has a remarkable similarity to trip mines. This was most likely the inspiration for the design of them.
