Claim beacon

A claim beacon, also known as an auto beacon, was used by scouts to claim ownership of a new planet. The beacon broadcast a continuous signal into the star system, and the claim was recognized by members of the Brotherhood of Independent Scouts. The beacon allowed a scout to protect their claim while heading back to civilization to register their claim.
