Candorian colonies

The Candorian colonies were colonies of the planet Candoria. In 46 BBY, Candoria and its colonies were depopulated by an outbreak of the Blue Shadow Virus. The disease was later known as the Candorian plague. The plague seemed to end then, but was introduced to Dentaal by the Empire forty-six years later.

Behind the scenes

The Candorian colonies were first mentioned in the 1995 magazine Star Wars Adventure Journal 5 as the "Bandorian colonies". As they are related to the Candorian plague, "Bandorian" was considered a misspelling of "Candorian". The correct spelling was then confirmed by the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.
