- ―TriNebulon News, about the Candorian plague
The Candorian colonies were colonies of the planet Candoria.[1] In 46 BBY,[2] Candoria and its colonies were depopulated by an outbreak of the Blue Shadow Virus.[1] The disease was later known as the Candorian plague. The plague seemed to end then, but was introduced to Dentaal by the Empire forty-six years later.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Candorian colonies were first mentioned in the 1995 magazine Star Wars Adventure Journal 5 as the "Bandorian colonies". As they are related to the Candorian plague, "Bandorian" was considered a misspelling of "Candorian". The correct spelling was then confirmed by the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.
