A cadet leader was a cadet at the Imperial academies who was given command over a platoon of troopers and the responsibility for handling a minor military operation as part of the Omega Exercise.
A notable cadet leader was Kyle Katarn who was responsible for the Imperial victory over Rebel forces on AX-456. Katarn emerged an Imperial hero and was decorated by his enemy-to-be, Jerec.
