Cadence/Legends

- "I made it to the second cadence!"
- ―Fable Astin
Cadences were practice techniques used by the Jedi to hone their skills with a lightsaber.[2] The famed Jedi Master Vo'ren Faalo developed a technique known as Faalo's cadences,[3] which he described in the seven volume of his Book of Practical Lightsaber Technique.[2] Another technique known as sevinte cadence was taught to Jedi Initiates before they could wield a real lightsaber.[4]
While Fable Astin was training with Adalric Cessius Brandl on Trulalis, her first lesson consisted of a series of cadences in which one manipulated small ball bearings placed atop tall candle wicks, and Astin initially excelled at the exercise. Unfortunately, when Adalric upped the difficulty level, Astin faltered and was unable to perform the exercise. Adalric became furious with Astin, ridiculing her for her weaknesses and inability to perform up to his standards.[1]
