The Bovorian language was a series of high-pitched whistles and trills. The sounds were similar to those produced by an R-series astromech droid. Some of the sounds produced by the Bovorians only registered in the ultrasonic range, which made it hard for other species—who could not hear those sounds—to understand them. For the benefit of these species, Bovorians brought their voices down to lower ranges for them to understand, or even switched to Basic if they felt the need to.[1]
