Bohhuah Mutdah/Legends
- "Bohhuah Mutdah is a retired industrialist, a trillionaire. His holdings in the Oseon are the largest in the system by a single individual, and it is possible that he is the wealthiest person in the civilized galaxy. He is also thoroughly addicted to lesai."
- ―Waywa Fybot
Bohhuah Mutdah was a Human male industrialist who by the early Imperial Period had amassed one of the largest fortunes in the known galaxy. Mutdah achieved incredible reaches through the diligent application of his formidable intellect and his addiction to lesai, a narcotic that allowed him to forgo sleep entirely. The largest private landowner in the Oseon system, Mutdah retired to his estate on Oseon 5792, before being murdered in 3 BBY by Sorcerer of Tund Rokur Gepta.
Biography
- "What have you people got against this Mutdah character—or is it simply that you don't like the size of his bank account?"
- ―Lando Calrissian
Over 100 years old by 3 BBY—a longevity due in part to the Rafa life-crystal he wore around his neck—[2]Bohhuah Mutdah was a Human male businessman who saw tremendous success in the latter years of the Galactic Republic into the Imperial Period. Although coming from relatively humble beginnings, Mutdah earned an incredible fortune as an industrialist, becoming the single largest private landowner in the wealthy Oseon system. By 3 BBY, there were some who believed that he might have been the single wealthiest being in the known the galaxy.[1]
Mutdah's success was at least partly attributed to his addiction to the drug lesai, which eliminated the necessity for sleep and allowed Mutdah to spend even more time preparing to crush his competition. Mutdah had retired by 3 BBY, moving into a massive, palatial estate on Oseon 5792 and spending the days indulging his basest instincts in a never-ending search for any kind of feeling. Mutdah spent decades in apathetic leisure, growing enormously obese over time and regularly receiving offworld lesai shipments. Mutdah's extended retirement ended in 3 BBY, when Sorcerer of Tund Rokur Gepta murdered him to assume his identity in a scheme to entrap smuggler Lando Calrissian.[1]
Personality and traits
An incredibly intelligent Human who once diligently applied his intellect to becoming one of the richest beings in the galaxy, Mutdah descended into a life of complete hedonism and indolence after retiring to his Oseon estate. Already a large man, Mutdah's sedentary, indulgent lifestyle led to him gaining a tremendous amount of weight, reaching between 300 and 350 kilograms on his two-plus meter frame. Mutdah hardly moved physically at all in his later years, spending his days sitting in a gel-filled recliner within a protective force field. By 3 BBY, he had not entered a standard gravitic field for 25 years, and had not used his own two hands for anything in five years.[1]
Mutdah was a lesai addict, which became a crucial part of his success in business—the elimination of his need to sleep allowed him the little extra advantage he needed to dominate the competition, and allowed him even more time to apply his tremendous intellect. Beyond that, Mutdah saw his lesai addiction as his reason to live in his later years. Mutdah had achieved incredible wealth, but found that nothing interested him or triggered any emotion except the drug. In fact, he found that he had no true will to live—rather, he persisted out of sheer apathetic inertia, completely uncaring about anything he encountered. Mutdah did enjoy literature on some level, as he had a notably large and diverse library on his estate and employed a servant to read to him.[1]
